Elected: 2010

Bio:
Guy was elected as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hexham at the 2010 General Election. He lives just outside Hexham.

Guy was one of the first new MPs to make his maiden speech and ask his first question at Prime Minster's Questions. Guy used the opportunity to request the Prime Minister's support for Hexham's Armed Forces Day celebrations, which the Prime Minister duly gave.

Last summer Guy set off on a summer tour of the constituency meeting as many local people, businesses and community groups as possible.
Guy works hard to represent our local residents in the House of Commons as well as working hard in our local area taking up matters of local concern dealing with casework, championing local campaigns and holding regular surgeries.

As well as visiting local schools and businesses, Guy also keeps in touch with local charities and community groups with regular visits. Determined to keep his MP feet on the ground, Guy regularly spends some of his Saturdays doing a 'Day in the life of'. Guy has already spent the day working in a Charity Shop in Hexham, joined the Police on the beat and got stuck in on Hexham's famous market.

Guy also takes a keen interest in Social Action and alongside running regular 'MP's Charity Quiz Nights' in aid of Help the Heroes, Guy also has a number of ongoing projects. These include his Work Experience programme offering local kids work experience, and 'Dig4Victory', helping support local tree and bulb planting days by organising young volunteers to help out.

Guy is also an amateur jockey, with several wins in point to points and a keen cricketer. Guy won the local point to point at Hexham in March 2009.
