Bio:
Richard began his career in the Army and was a founder Trustee of the charity Help for Heroes. He later became a qualified Chartered Surveyor and ran his own business dealing farming, forestry and the management of urban and rural housing. Richard was a local councillor during the 1990s, and fought two general elections prior to 2005 reducing the Liberal Democrat majority twice as the candidate in the 1997 and 2001 General Elections. He is currently the Minister for the Natural Environment and Fisheries and had previously sat on the Home Affairs Select Committee.
