Bio:
Adam has been MP for Windsor since 2005. He is a passionate advocate of science, innovation and digital technology as a means of securing economic growth and improving public services.
He was Shadow Minister for Science and Innovation from 2007 to 2010. He is Chairman of the Parliamentary Office of Science & Technology (POST), Chairman of the Parliamentary Space Committee Associate Parliamentary Group, President of the Conservative Technology Forum and Founder of Conservative Friends of Science.
Prior to entering Parliament, Adam was a successful entrepreneur in the information services and technology sector. A regional finalist in the 2003 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards, he sold his controlling interest in DeHavilland Information Services to EMAP plc in 2005.
In 1993 he was founding director of Connect Support Services - an IT services company pioneering fixed-price support. Connect was recognised in the Virgin Sunday Times Fasttrack 100 of Britain's fastest growing private companies in 2002. He now acts as non-executive Chairman of Connect and is also non-executive Chairman of Adfero Ltd, a news and information services company.
He is a former Trustee of Policy Exchange, Governor of the Museum of London and Trustee of the Museum in Docklands and he was proud to be London Chairman of Business For Sterling and a spokesman for the "no" to the Euro campaign.
At the 2010 general election, Adam secured the biggest majority in the history of the Windsor seat, with 61% of the vote and the biggest combined swing from Labour and LibDems for an incumbent MP.
